Me too re. giving up.
It's frustrating as Heck to watch these people ignore us and pretend we don't exist in their frenzy to cash in. Interesting that it refuses from Playstation4, I wasn't aware MS was having ANY relationship with Sony. But I agree regards XBox, it refuses to download THROUGH the Xbox servers, or so it would seem. As I say, Outer Worlds installs and plays fine and all of my other MS stuff through there works as advertised. Just not this. Not since Beta.
Probably just as well, Austin's product and it's add ons are making a KILLING off me. ALL of the West Coast of the US in True Earth HD plus the UK the same. 2 Terabytes of ORBX and the interesting thing is their methods are patented, MS can't use them, only allow them to be re-sold or contract for features in-sim. Since they STILL blow this product away from any altitude I will sick with the ORBX True Earth in the competition for now.
I miss ATC, and the one in the new product is much improved. But it doesn't make up for the abysmal performance in other areas, including the flight model, which is after all why we're flying, isn't it? It does feel "fatter" in the digital information it is able to convey to you during flight, that is very much like the competition. Problem is, when the POH, relative conditions and your own common sense disagree with what you are experiencing in-sim. If the wind is at X knots at 06, and I am on 19 at the local in the 172, WHY is yours so different? I have almost every type of payware for that AC it is possible to have and yet yours flys completely differently from ANY of those, in ANY sim. Just doesn't seem to want to get aloft as easily. Good ground handling but the roll out feels like we're doing it through peanut butter, even Tundra tire versions get aloft quicker.
I see Mathias is fixing this thing, it's good to have the code and I expect the Embraer just released to be everything his poor airbus isn't. I had heard he made the one they have in game but I surely won't blame him for that, it is only a shape after all. I have his Airbus for the LM sim and it is excellent, on a par with the QOTSII from PMDG. With aircraft and sceneries from the aftermarket such as Aerosoft, MSFS will grow and thrive. But for those of us with this bug/feature it has left a bitter taste.
As someone who makes the business decisions on all sorts of things for my small medically focused company I will once again be coming to decision time- stay with iPads and an iMac CTO or jump ship. Thank you for making up my mind for me, Microsoft. This same thing happened last time, too. You somehow plunged yourself OUT of the running with something serendipitous, thus placing the current iPad- iMac configuration into place.
