Can't download Microsoft flight sim 2020

I purchased a new Alienware R11 with top of the line hardware, this machine is outstanding.. I then purchased FS2020, and began downloading it, then I encountered "Error", I tried all of the claimed fixe's....no joy. After a few hours, 

I returned this sim and got a refund. If MS wants help troubleshooting their product from me and or other members, then I feel fs2020 should be free of charge, especially when we can't even perform step1: "download". Not sure what happened to MS, yes, they have had software bugs with past fs, but this? Can't even download it. BTW, whats up with the US only not having the option to purchase hard copies? Not everyone has high speed broadband in the US or days to download (that would need to work).wow seems as lot was missed when planning the release of this product.... sad, I have all of the previous MS FS and may look at other options as I'm not reinstalling my OS or spending long days or night trying to make it work....

I found the only thing that worked was doing what was suggesting in August by someone (have reposted below) it fixes windows so you don't have to reinstall it

, I was having all these issues as well, tried countless fixes but only one worked for me. Don't remember the forum I originally found this fix in or the thread but what worked for me was downloading the media creation tool 2004, running that, letting it download an or reinstall any windows updates and after I was able to download and play the game no problem. The file is only around 20mb and it took around a half hour to run

I tried that and reformatting, new HD...everything.  We cant ignore the fact that we should not be chasing down fixes, some of them totally ridiculous as well.  The installer is seriously flawed.

Don't reinstall windows, That's what has given me all the issues, I can't install it now on either drive, after days of finally getting to the point my installer downloads FS2020, when pressing play to download the mammoth game yet again it simply does nothing but opens a new window for a spilt second before bombing out, reinstalling windows didn't just ruin my fs2020, it cocked up everything related to the Xbox app, ridiculous...… stay away from the Microsoft launcher versions of anything.!!!

I've got mine fixed after days of trying to get back in, even though I'd already tried resetting the gaming services from within windows settings I then saw a post on another forum mentioning the gaming services in servies.msc, for some reason both of mine were labelled as being the same instead of one having Net at the end, anyway, I stopped both of these services then restarted both ….immediately Ms Store downloaded the gaming service again after telling me it was available, after this FS decided to open up and start actually downloading, don't ask how , just has.....at the end of another long day it's almost finished downloading...maybe give it a shot....

I love how the new installer now tells me where my download starts stalling.  It happens to be on the exact same file on the previous installer version.  So thanks for the cosmetic upgrade but how about we fix something??????  Wish I could get a refund.
