trying to download Microsoft flight sim 2020 immediately errors out 0x00000001

    Dont reinstall windows  it wont  fix anything. I got a new laptop  so I didnt care about  reinstalling ..  thats not the issue and wont help. 

    this is a Flight Sim problem  not a windows or laptop problem/  My laptop is brand new.  High end grahics card.  1TB   and 32GB ram.  .. def not the computer.  

    Ive tried everything  I can think of.  This is  insane

    Also yes  all updates are installed for  both store  and windows.  Also switched username  from  account to LOCAL   still nothing.

    Holy Cow!! Does any of this sound normal just to download a sim?  I have downloaded many sims and games but Microsoft needs to get it together.  X plane 11 download and updates are trouble free but this sim asks you to try replacing your damn hard drive.  No thanks...

    I had the same problem and Sumit's advice worked.  

    "Select Start, then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates

    Make sure all the updates in the Microsoft Store are correctly installed."

    Though I thought I had everything updated already, following these instructions exactly allowed me to install Flight Sim with no issues anymore.

    Note: At least for me the Windows updates themselves took nearly two hours to download and install.

    Check your version of windows 10. Also make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
