trying to download Microsoft flight sim 2020 immediately errors out 0x00000001

    It's network related..

    I come to idea to chec network after trying to run Xbox app from other pc in the same network witch behaved same as on my gaming pc. 

    And after one night of leaving my msfs2020 to try to download I noticed that there were download of about 2gb during the night. I analyzed traffic on mikrotik and coculluded that there where network error on our primary ISP connection, and during redundant connection to other ISP download begon, until primary ISP comes back then download stops again... 

    I isolated given IP... So anybody with problems should ckeck firewall rules and connectivity to ms servers.

    Thank you Danilo_Šaković. Your idea brought me to our firewall which has an integrated virus scanning and correct http handling proxy which also checks for correct sizes of downloads and so on. It is a Sophos UTM box.

    I looked again in detail into the logs and I found a http 416 code when accessing xboxlive.com.....

    So I created an exception for the proxy which now allows any requests to xboxlive.com...

    Now it ist downloading. Hoping it will finally run an I made it.

    Nevertheless thats a bad installer of MS which could me made better I think.

    Check ping to 13.107.246.13 it should work!!! 

    When i was unable to get reply from 13.107.246.13 i was unable to download... did some sniffing and noticed all connection to that ip was without answer.

    Added route to 13.107.246.13 @ my router to use redundant connection and all good. 

    Seams like my ISP no1 block downloads from 13.107.246.13 but ISP no2 did not :)

    That launcher or whatever M$ uses ist total ****. I reinstalled my computer, fresh W10x64 and it stopped when launching "Gaming Services" and starting "Microsoft Flight Simulator" with Code 0x87E00005.

    In system monitor no relevant CPU and network activity.

    It seems to be ****.
