here were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080005).

This is the error I get every time for a few days.

I tried troubleshooting but it didn't work. 

Many have said in other queries(for the same problem) to Reset SoftwareDistribution & Catroot2 folders. But I'm scared to do that because I'm worried if something happens to my laptop.

Please suggest a way to solve this issue.

This is a frequent issue sometimes caused by driver compatibility errors: Windows 10 Update Assistant (microsoft.com)

You could try downloading the Windows Update Assistant. It can help bump your version of windows past this sort of update error to the latest version.

Choose the 1st option for the update assistant: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

    I have this problem, it's stuck in the version of Windows 10 before the May 2021 update. It seems to be related to a HP USB driver update. The HP update runs (it has run almost 30 times) and then Update stops and goes back to the screen saying I'm missing important... blah blah. I have tried everything listed here including refreshing WIndows to its original state. and it went right back to this point. I also tried editing the registry to stop HP updates, but no luck. In the update history screen the HP update is grayed out so even though I've done it 30 times I can't click on it like other installed updates.
