Windows 10 says I have no internet connection, but I have.

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.

I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).

As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?

If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

Hello, use Registry Editor, go to: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

and modify: EnableActiveProbing

then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"

and restart your computer

The proper one is

"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force

But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

    Still experiencing the same on Windows Pro 2004 build 19041.572

    Switching on and off WIFI is the only way to get the "internet access" back. But sometimes it stays long, sometimes it switches back to "no internet access" right away.

    I changed the ncsi prob values to the debian ones. But it doesn't make a difference.

    Microsoft Windows seems to be struggling to test internet connectivity, very weird.

    I wrote this message without internet access by the way...

    Yes, even though the globe is showing and saying you have no internet, internet is actually working(thank God), so for the most part, you can keep doing things.  It is just certain programs such as MS Store and Spodify for example, that obviously refer to that to find out if you have internet, cos they moan that you don't and won't work.  This is a pain for me, cos I have not been able to use my Spodify ever since this issue cropped up, and as I am paying a subscription for my Spodify, I am basically wasting money on a service that MS won't let me access cos of this issue.  I just hope MS do something about it soon, or I will have to cancel my Spodify.  Very little point paying money to them, so they can say I can't access it offline, cos of the Windoze globe icon issue.

    A reboot DOES fix it, but only till it happens again, and at this rate, everyone would have to be rebooting their machines at least once every day, which is silly in this day and age where you just leave your computer on all the time
