Windows 10 says I have no internet connection, but I have.

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.

I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).

As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?

If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

Hello, use Registry Editor, go to: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

and modify: EnableActiveProbing

then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"

and restart your computer

The proper one is

"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force

But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

    i have this problem also after update 2004 and tried all solution in this thread with no successes.

    Is there any Q&A going on with this? I am using a surface pro 6, Windows 10 2004 with Office 365 Home and Pro. 

    Suddenly one windows update and this problem has resulted in my office installation failing to active. I am unable to install office again, unable to use the microsoft store etc.... I need/bought this device expecting this experience to work seamlessly.

    I have tried the enable active probing (and restarting setting both to 0 or 1), adjusting my host file, changing my local dns, setting all configuration manually, resetting my NIC. The site is plainly accessible in a browser, but there isn't even an event log to tell me what/why went wrong. 

    It has been months after 2004 has been released and this is a Microsoft reference device. This experience should NOT be acceptable and should easily be caught/fixed by testing. The issue at hand should be clearly documented as a critical error in event viewer if it's causing core software like the Windows Store or Office to fail.

    The experience here is not acceptable.

    Updating the host file has continued to work for me. See my post on page 9. It includes the steps I took and the results.
