Windows 10 says I have no internet connection, but I have.

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.

I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).

As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?

If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

Hello, use Registry Editor, go to: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

and modify: EnableActiveProbing

then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"

and restart your computer

The proper one is

"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force

But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

    I've tried everything in this post to no avail.  I cannot connect to the feedback hub or download the new Windows 10 build with a supposed fix because the feedback hub and all the things you need to do to download the build require (here's the irony) that Windows verify it's connected to the internet...which it will not do with this problem.  Sigh...they need to hurry up and fix this.  So many things working improperly with this error.

    Is there any way I can get the new build or give feedback or in some other fashion force Windows to think there is a connection to the internet?  Losing too much productivity on this trying to resolve the past two months.

    Had a computer running windows 10 and the globe that says no internet. Windows store would not work. After removing updating network card changing all settings for power etc. Running netsh reset commands for everything. nothing worked. Tried several recommended settings from all sorts of forums. This finally worked. 

    Used a anti spyware app call shutup10 - set to recommended settings rebooted then set back to windows defaults. Not sure what it did to set back to defaults but it worked.

    I have a similar issue for our company

    I already set the enable active probe to 1 and still have the issue

    It will randomly return

    Not sure what else to try

    All updates are applied to the PC - All PCs prior to Build 2004 are working fine

    I'm suspecting a network policy might be causing an issue
