Windows 10 says I have no internet connection, but I have.

I am running on Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.264.

I recently changed to the Windows Insider Program and updated Windows. In the taskbar, the Wi-Fi icon shows No Internet Access, but I have a stable internet connection wirelessly (Ex: I can browse the internet, ping IP Addresses, etc.). Another problem is when I try to open Cortana it also says that I have no internet connection (By the way, I can also open Microsoft's website).

As I know Windows checks internet connectivity with this URL: http://msftconnecttest.com/connecttest.txt. But this gives Error 404, File Not Found. Maybe it is because of this?

If you know the problem or an answer, please help. Thanks!

Hello, use Registry Editor, go to: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

and modify: EnableActiveProbing

then change "Value data" from "0" to "1"

and restart your computer

The proper one is

"HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator\” -Name UseGlobalDNS -PropertyType DWORD -Value 1 -Force

But the more appropriate way to do this is not through registry directly, but through group policy config:

    The registry solution didn't work for me, active probing was already on.This tool solved the issue for me too.

    I applied first the WindowsSpyBlocker NCSI settings and the tray icon changed after a few seconds.

    Then MS NCSI and it stills show the connection as active correctly.

    I noticed the URLs in the registry changed:

    I started experiencing this issue last week on my PC with Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19041.329 via my Wireless network.  What I discovered upon running ipconfig is that I would have several temporary IPv6 addresses. I had more than 10 the first time I checked!

    So, I disabled IPv6 in the classic network stack for my Intel Wireless AC-3168, and my Internet came back instantly.  This is probably a poor workaround for many who actually need IPv6, but on my home network it has been working for me rather solid for now.

    Maybe this information could be useful in pinpointing the cause of the issue?  I dunno,  I have been running 2004 since April and didn't have any issues until last week and seemingly out of nowhere.

    I did tried many way, regedit, IPv6...

    But non of them work, I still have internet, actually writing now but the symbol shown that No internet access.

    Any help pls.

    I just need to do following because I have done other according to other advice:

    Run the fixit from https://support.microsoft.com/help/929852 (Re-enable IPv6 on all nontunnel interfaces) and reboot.
