good old registry hack does not work anymore:

  1. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power] CsEnabled=0
  2. deleted [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\ModernSleep]

PC still uses "Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected" and it makes a lot of problems

    Hi All,

Right after getting the 20H2 update installed S0i3 seems to be back even with this one in registry:

    reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0

    That's despite my machine isn't even advertising S0i3 support - only S3:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /a

The following sleep states are available on this system:

    Standby (S3)

    Hibernate

    Hybrid Sleep

    Fast Startup

The following sleep states are not available on this system:

    Standby (S1)

The system firmware does not support this standby state.

    Standby (S2)

The system firmware does not support this standby state.

    Standby (S0 Low Power Idle)

The system firmware does not support this standby state.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Is W10 with 20H2 update enforcing S0i3 thereby ignoring the fact it's not supported then? How do I disable it again anyway? I have reasons not to ever have it enabled in my particular application, even at the expense of having no Standby whatsoever (I'll have to use Hibernate instead in the worst case, as I already did before).

    Many thanks in advance!

Update: Sorry looks like I just forgot to manually put it into the (S3) sleep, so it may have just turned off the screen while staying active all the time as per my Standby timeout settings and so was warm to touch.

DELL INS-7400-1825HS with I7-1165G7 has the same question.

PlatformAoAcOverride can successfully disable S0 state but i will lost all the sleep options from start menu, beceuse the S3 mode is continue report 'The system firmware does not support this standby state'.

I don't want to use the github that upstairs said.

Because it needs to disable secure boot, Although i signed my name in FSF Anti-UEFI wall. And it says 'Please note that Windows do not support seamless transition between ACPI S3 and S0ix. A fresh installation is required.'

I think there is some way to copy other computers file, am i right?

I can do anything to my computer instead of my system. Because i don't want to reinstall the system, i will lost some my settings and all my files.

Can we report DELL and M$ as a monopoly and something about consumer rights ?

    Hi MW,

After trying the above, the message shows that my HP pavillion (Win 10) does support S3 but there are other S settings also supported. How can I ensure the unit is closing to S3 as I'm still trying to reduce a 7% batt loss over 24 hr period and hoping S3 will help? Thnx

    Hello,

and thank You. Its worked for me. Unfortunately when i close a laptop and open it again Windows shows it to me a lockscreen. that is normal and ok.  After 2-3 seconds laptop turns off automatically. Do you know more about it?

    Greetings
