Windows crashing after clicking PERFORMANCE tab under Task Manager

Hello Windows Community folks

Windows 10 keeps crashing after I click Performance TAB in Task Manager. It crashes the windows going into the infamous Green screen with reason- Windows preview build failed. I have tried several debug options like cmd SFC Scan, DISM.

I have not specifically touched registry keys as I am afraid I will end up breaking something else.

What options do I have? Please suggest.

this helped for me,

I changed

NVIDIA System Control > 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred GPU

from "NVIDIA high performance processor"

back to "auto select"

    Uninstall the actual nvidia driver! Go to nvidia.com and download latest VGA driver!
    I have ASUS X541UJ notebook, today installed WIN10 x64 20H2, and i was this problem.
    After VGA driver update problem is solved!

    I faced same problem. I own Lenovo ThinkPad w530 workstation with windows 10 pro. Uninstalled Realtek drivers didn't solve the problem. The actual problem was with Nvidia k2000 driver updated by windows by default. Later just went Lenovo site and downloaded system update software and it updated Nvidia display driver (around 600MB) and restarted . It solved the problem and reinstalled Realtek audio driver through windows update.

    it works with me also, after installing latest Nvidia driver from Nvidia.com the issue is gone.
