I changed
NVIDIA System Control > 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred GPU
from "NVIDIA high performance processor"
back to "auto select"

Hello Windows Community folks
Windows 10 keeps crashing after I click Performance TAB in Task Manager. It crashes the windows going into the infamous Green screen with reason- Windows preview build failed. I have tried several debug options like cmd SFC Scan, DISM.
I have not specifically touched registry keys as I am afraid I will end up breaking something else.
What options do I have? Please suggest.

2020-07-14T20:12:05+00:00 Similar problem - task manager crashes when selecting the Performance tab. On windows pro 2004. Haven't been able to fix it , but there is a workaround - use Process Explorer instead . It works fine and actually has far more , and more useful, performance information.

2020-06-03T22:54:52+00:00 I downloaded the Realtek installer, then disconnected from the Internet, uninstalled the Realtek drivers and rebooted. That didn't help. While still disconnected from the Internet, I reinstalled the drivers and rebooted. That didn't help either. I went through the same procedure again, this time in safe mode. Same result, except that the Performance tab works correctly in safe mode regardless of whether the drivers are installed. I couldn't find anything useful by using the event viewer, probably because of insufficient expertise.

2020-06-03T13:53:21+00:00 After studying the event viewer I found ATKEX_cmd.exe was causing the problem. This is part of Realtek audio drivers. Uninstalling the hardware drivers completely and then reinstalling the Realtek software fixed the problem for me.
