You own the hardware only. The OS and all software is licensed only -- and they set the terms that you must agree with. That is true for Windows, MacOS and Linux. You have already agreed to the terms and conditions.

Any idea why this is? l am literally running a very modern £1600 PC with very modern hardware (approx 6 months old).

2020-06-27T22:50:31+00:00 If the OS is genuine and was already activated you should just choose the option to not enter the product key now. After installation is complete it will activate on it's own -- unless there is an issue.
