Missing download folder

I cannot download programs. When sellecting “run” i get the message that the download directory cannot be accessed. Anyone know a fix?

This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Users > Admin > Downloads >

Hi Anthony

What security software are you using on your PC, do you use Windows Defender or some 3rd party Security Suite?

If you use Defender:

Open Windows Defender Security Center

Go to Virus & threat protection - Virus & threat protection settings

Scroll down to Controlled folder access

Temporarily turn off Controlled Folder Access and check to see if you can download and run a file

Please do not leave Controlled Folder Access turned off permanently

There are no downloaded files in the folder. Thats the problem.....the Run command tells me that the downloads directory cannot be accessed. Therefore nothing gets downloaded.

I don’t understand what this is supposed to accomplish! What do I do next?

It would open the folder that Windows has designated as your Downlloads folder. So...
1. Did a folder open?
2. What was its name & path?

Hi Anthony

In that folder do you find the file you downloaded and if so, can you run the files form there, and if not, if you move the file out of that folder, to another folder, can you then run that file?
