Apps keep pinning themselves on startup to the task bar, how do I stop this?

Whenever I boot up my laptop MSI dragon center and xbox (beta) would be pinned to the task bar. I had to unpin everytime I use my laptop. How do I put an end to this? Please help. Thanks

This solved the problem for me.

C:\Users(youruserhere)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

Looking for this line

CustomTaskbarLayoutCollection PinListPlacement="Replace"

I did a ctrl+f and searched "custom"

Found the lines with xbox app and dragon center app

Removed them and saved xml

Rebooted and they didnt show back up.

    I can confirm I have exactly the same problem with brand new MSI Leopard. It is only those two apps and I have updated all the obvious items (Startup Apps etc.)

    I have a Cyberpower PC and it's doing it here too. It didn't do it until upgrading to 20H2 version of Windows. I'm betting that's where it came from. I also do not know how to kill that <bleep>'n re-pin thing without killing all pins.

    Worked, if you ever want to undo the process, simple ctrl+v this blip back into your Taskbar options:

    <taskbar:UWA AppUserModelID="9426MICRO-STARINTERNATION.DragonCenter_kzh8wxbdkxb8p!App"/>

    <taskbar:UWA AppUserModelID="9426MICRO-STARINTERNATION.CreatorCenter_kzh8wxbdkxb8p!App"/>
