Apps keep pinning themselves on startup to the task bar, how do I stop this?

Whenever I boot up my laptop MSI dragon center and xbox (beta) would be pinned to the task bar. I had to unpin everytime I use my laptop. How do I put an end to this? Please help. Thanks

This solved the problem for me.

C:\Users(youruserhere)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

Looking for this line

CustomTaskbarLayoutCollection PinListPlacement="Replace"

I did a ctrl+f and searched "custom"

Found the lines with xbox app and dragon center app

Removed them and saved xml

Rebooted and they didnt show back up.

    Hi, It keeps asking me what app I want to open it with, what do I open it with? It's suggesting Microsoft XML handler, is that correct?

    Notepad will be fine.
