Apps keep pinning themselves on startup to the task bar, how do I stop this?

Whenever I boot up my laptop MSI dragon center and xbox (beta) would be pinned to the task bar. I had to unpin everytime I use my laptop. How do I put an end to this? Please help. Thanks

This solved the problem for me.

C:\Users(youruserhere)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

Looking for this line

CustomTaskbarLayoutCollection PinListPlacement="Replace"

I did a ctrl+f and searched "custom"

Found the lines with xbox app and dragon center app

Removed them and saved xml

Rebooted and they didnt show back up.

    This should be flagged as correct answer.

    You can remove this whole block, THEN! also do a ctl+f for "dragon" (for me it was first in the list) and delete that block as well, deleting this in the picture alone will not work, but success after deleting the dragon block above.

    this whole list/directory is enlightening, must be MSI standard for prebuilt msi machines, thank you so much. This is must have info that should be included as options or at least in some MSI documentation. Will report to MSI.

    open this file in notepad: C:\Users(your_name)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

    clear all lines of wich apps you don't want on your taskbar(shows name at the end)

      <taskbar:TaskbarPinList>

    and

      </taskbar:TaskbarPinList>

    Dragon Center keeps coming back anyway. How can this be a solution for you and not for me?

    Maybe cause im running Win 11?

    Getting mad at this right now!
