Apps keep pinning themselves on startup to the task bar, how do I stop this?

Whenever I boot up my laptop MSI dragon center and xbox (beta) would be pinned to the task bar. I had to unpin everytime I use my laptop. How do I put an end to this? Please help. Thanks

This solved the problem for me.

C:\Users(youruserhere)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

Looking for this line

CustomTaskbarLayoutCollection PinListPlacement="Replace"

I did a ctrl+f and searched "custom"

Found the lines with xbox app and dragon center app

Removed them and saved xml

Rebooted and they didnt show back up.

    That should work, but GPEDIT isn't normally enabled. You have to typically install a few things.

    I have the same problem! but instead of MSI Dragon Center, the one that would always be pinned to my task bar is MSI Creator Center. My laptop is Modern 14B4MW bought it 3 days ago and yeah I also think this is an MSI issue rather than windows itself.

    its a windows issue as i have 2 of the Razer Blade 15 and a Cyberpower Desktop all new and this is still an issue unfortunately

    Thanks for posting this solution.  I had a similar problem with a CyberPower desktop I recently bought.  The Xbox app would keep re-pinning itself after I'd reboot even after I'd unpin-ed it.

    I tried everything...and nothing worked! Those pin are still there! I also deleted the entire LayoutModification.xml from my user, and defaut file, but pin are still there!!!!! Xbox and dragon center
