Apps keep pinning themselves on startup to the task bar, how do I stop this?

Whenever I boot up my laptop MSI dragon center and xbox (beta) would be pinned to the task bar. I had to unpin everytime I use my laptop. How do I put an end to this? Please help. Thanks

This solved the problem for me.

C:\Users(youruserhere)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\LayoutModification.xml

Looking for this line

CustomTaskbarLayoutCollection PinListPlacement="Replace"

I did a ctrl+f and searched "custom"

Found the lines with xbox app and dragon center app

Removed them and saved xml

Rebooted and they didnt show back up.

    They're already switched off, and no, I think I would know if I selected these apps and chose to pin them. I keep unpinning them, but they would keep appearing on the task bar whenever I restart my computer. Are there any other solutions?

    I have the exact same problem, dragon center and xbox (beta) are the only ones doing the autopin.

    I picked this laptop up 2 days after this original post and noticed this problem right away, on every user.

    I didn't have this problem with my previous laptop (MSI GS75 Stealth 8th gen Intel) -> Now have: (MSI GS75 Stealth 10th gen Intel)

    Windows 10 Pro

    version: 1909

    OS Build: 18393.836

    XRP please don't give advice that disables core windows functionality...

    What you suggested was like blindfolding someone because they didn't want to see the mess in their house.

    Let's fix the actual problem shall we?

    I am curious if anyone else (Non MSI laptop users) that has xbox (beta) installed is having this issue?

    I uninstalled the dragon center and re-installed it, it still does the same thing.

    I couldn't get the xbox (beta)  to re-install, because the MS store is just as broken as any other MS product apparently...

    But having it uninstalled obviously fixes that problem (don't want xbox anyway)

    Because this is only a problem with xbox (beta) and the MSI dragon center, I assume this is related to those applications, rather than windows itself. I will be contacting MSI and seeing what that have to say about the dragon center.

    In the mean time xbox (beta) developers please check your app

    if you go to taskbar type in startup App you Switch on/off of what Program you want to run when windows boots up

    If it is still there when you close the program then somewhere along you have selected to pin it to the taskbar for easy access whenever you want it.  If the icon is still there when you close the program, right click it and Unpin.
