The new Update is here! Windows 10 2004.

Hey all!

The new version 2004 is up and ready to download. Theres two methods to install it.

Method one:

Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update (selected by default) > Check For Updates (all in lower caps)

P.S if you not able to find any updates It maybe your windows version (1909) is conlficting with your updates.  If this happens follow method two:

Method two:

Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 > click on update now to install (Windows 10 update assistant) > follow the instructions and wait for install to complete. (read P.S If you new to the Windows 10 Update Assistant software.)

P.S allow the software to download and install the new windows version one done a notification will pop on the desktop. Dont worry this is normal and the software will automatically restart your pc. 

DO NOT TURN OFF THE DESKTOP OR LAPTOP WHEN IT RESTARTS.

    I have completely lost confidence in Microsoft and Windows 10. I did a clean install of 2004 on my self built Ryzen Desktop PC, it had no blocks associated with the upgrade from 1909 to 2004. I have not been impressed and I have now convinced myself that even months after its release in May its still a work in progress. Here it is September and my HP laptop still can't get the update because of a Conexant audio driver issue. This laptop is only 4 years old! I have moved on to running Linux Mint on that laptop. Oh and don't get me started on how bad Windows 10 is detecting my printer. Good heaven's this is basic stuff Microsoft. How can you muck this stuff up so bad??

    I did the update and now my built-in card readers no longer work anymore. This happened before and a later update corrected it. That needs to happen again...

    Can someone tell me why an inplace upgrade to this build of windows 10 resets all record ids in event viewer to 1 and clears out previous records?!?!

    not sure if this will help or not to stop MS from forcing the update on the computer or not but there are steps at this site shutting down without installing updates as well stopping updates completely.   I am running windows 10 home edition as well and will be trying the steps there for stopping updates completely.   https://www.windowschimp.com/windows-10-annoyances/#1

    When you look at the date of this "information" is May, 2020. The 20215 update, the one you're being notified about, is not in that methodology. If you don't run the update straight from your "Setting", you will not have the latest update.
