The new Update is here! Windows 10 2004.

hello sir, can i update window 10 now or wait till when all issue is fix

I'm always gonna suggest the update. I get that some are having issues, and I, as an Insider, had my first real issue with the 20236.1000 update. But I expect that. 

I'm recommending the update, simply because catching up can cause more issues than just fighting through it. On another thread about this 2004 update, I noted something that I am trying to monitor. I built my computer. A lot of people having issues were on laptops. I built my laptops too. Prebuilt, in my humble opinion, is not keeping up with MS. I believe that's MS fault, in some ways, but manufacturers licensing Windows OS's, need more coordination to slow down the updates, or speed up the H/W, F/W, development. This shouldn't be happening. Windows is like an SUV-XRT. They want to build a truck, but they have to build it like it's a car. A PC, and a tablet should work together. But not try to be the other device. A PC is a PC, not a crossover. That may make no sense to you, but neither does what MS is doing, and the MFR's are not doing, make any sense either.

After reading these complete horror stories, My solution is to ignore the "VERSION 2004".

It is an optional update not automatic.

So; when I check for updates I refuse to  click on the "download and install FEATURE UPDATE TO WINDOWS 10, VERSION 2004".

Both my PC and Laptop run beautifully with no issues with their current versions.

SOLUTION.... If it aint broke, don't fix it.... ignore the manual update option.

I installed 2004 on 10/1 and I had no problems with the install; however, it removed iCloud from my computer so I had to install iCloud from the web so I could get my contacts and calendar.  Then it uninstalled my Office Home and Business 2019 software for Outlook and replaced it with Office 365 which I don't even have a subscription to.  I'm not technical by any means and I hate all these "Updates" that mess with my settings!

Office is now Microsoft 365. That is the understanding I got when my Office 365 was downgraded to Office 2016, and I had a fit! It's a frustrating ordeal when you have to redo what you have already done, and redo settings and everything else, content as well.

So get ready for the next "update" to move Office 365, which now, doesn't need a subscription for, Microsoft 365, which, by then, may not need a subscription for either. It's feature laden and certain iterations of it will be charged for. Things like expanded OneDrive storage, and the like. And as far as iCloud is concerned, Apple will give you enough headaches with their "updated" versions soon enough. I already had to change my credit card to get Apple to stop charging me for an account that they said was locked, "for security reasons", and they couldn't help me get into it, but they couldn't close the account either, so they kept the charge going. Not anymore!!!

Your lucky, ive lost everything and theyve made changes in the way they do updates, and appeared to have fixed the glitches. Alot of this has to do with the NEW Security Intelligence updates and the Defender Application and conflicts with Cloud and Toolbars.

I have completely lost confidence in Microsoft and Windows 10. I did a clean install of 2004 on my self built Ryzen Desktop PC, it had no blocks associated with the upgrade from 1909 to 2004. I have not been impressed and I have now convinced myself that even months after its release in May its still a work in progress. Here it is September and my HP laptop still can't get the update because of a Conexant audio driver issue. This laptop is only 4 years old! I have moved on to running Linux Mint on that laptop. Oh and don't get me started on how bad Windows 10 is detecting my printer. Good heaven's this is basic stuff Microsoft. How can you muck this stuff up so bad??
