Help Fix event 642 [SOLVED]

Update on my end.  I deleted the WIndows.old folder but sadly no change.  Event viewer is littered with ESENT errors and hardware usage is still super high since 2004 update.  MS doesn't allow any rollback so taking an image of a machine prior to installing would strongly be advised. I wish I did so that I could roll back to a usable system.

Thank you for your input on this. I am wondering id Windows does a little housekeeping when they automatically delete the Windows.old folder. I still have my roll back back capabilities in the Recovery section of update/security in setting. I really think MS needs to address this **** and a fix for it.

It's now 10 days since 2004 updated and the Windows.old folder was automatically deleted. My ESENT 642 warnings in event viewer have STOPPED. I cannot answer as to crashing apps and slowdowns but as far as the ESENT warning goes, I think this was the solution.

That is a great observation. I can only hope mine does too when my time expires as I am not counting on MS to fix it.

My machine has gotten considerably slower since 2004 update.  I'm busier than hell and can't afford to rebuild my surface.....again but need a stable machine.  I've been running at 75-85% RAM consumed before I even open an app.
