Have you ran the windows update troubleshooter? After the process completes then restart using Start > Power> Restart.

Have you ran the windows update troubleshooter? After the process completes then restart using Start > Power> Restart. I tried the troubleshooter which said they couldn't find a problem. Someone suggested doing a system restore which worked for me. Finally after trying many other hints.

Try doing a system restore. That finally worked for me.
