Windows 10 May 2020 update is now available

when i try to update i get a 0x80072efd error even though i have checked and my network connection is fine. my computer hardware is compatible. why cant i update a £10000 pound pc 

This happened to me earlier today. I had to do a system restore after I downloaded the latest driver for AMD Radeon. It required me to restart my laptop, and that's when the problem occurred. It rebooted, but the desktop never showed up. I remained at a blank screen. I corrected the problem by manually powering off. I rebooted and hit F12 before the Windows screen came up. I chose to do a system restore, and it was successful.

When my desktop was back, I decided to check for updates through Windows Update. That's when I got the error 0x80072. I realized it stopped checking. I had to start Windows Update because it was somehow disabled. These are the steps I took.

Click on the start button, and scroll down until you come to Windows Administrative Tools. Click on 'Services', and it will bring up that tool. Scroll down through the list until you find Windows Update. Click on Windows Update. After clicking on it, you should see disabled to the right of it. You may have to view it in full screen to see whether it's disabled. You then should see "Start" or "Stop" or both at the top left corner of the Services tool.

Click on 'Start", and Windows Update should be enabled again.

No. There is no charge for Windows Update if you have a valid Windows 10.

i haven't get the windwos 10 version 2004 update through update & security option of windows settings app

They are pushing the updates slowly. I have received the  2004 update today.

how much time it take to install the update??
