Windows 10 May 2020 update is now available

oh and DO NOT install the 2004 update it is breaking alot of peoples PC's mine included, I know you want to have the most up to date version of Windows but this happens literally everytime Windows releases a major update, it is filled with bugs at first and breaks peoples computers but then a few months later after a couple updates it is stable. So wait a couple months until they iron out the bugs, because there is a good chance that if you install it you will have issues.

This update for me has been a disaster from the start..pretty new Dell Desktop, otherwise no issues..this is the first time Ive EVER had a problem with an update..it finally appeared a few days ago, downloaded it, starts installing, goes to 60 percent(Working on windows update) then says "Undoing changes" and resorts back, not sure what the issue is..tried it four times already..I stopped all updates, tried again, same issue, even used the windows update app to download the update, same issue..now the update doesnt even appear anymore under software updates, not sure if they removed it or what gives but its gone..the only updates that get downloaded now are windows anti virus definition updates and thats it..so not sure what is going on with this update but its TERRIBLE..my 2012 Sony laptop downloaded the update over a week ago no problem but with a almost 2 yr old Dell Desktop it cant handle it not sure what is going on

Dell really has nothing to do with the compatibility of Windows updates. I have never heard of a computer manufacturer saying what version of Windows will work on their system. It just depends on the processor, RAM and how much storage you have, and that has nothing to do with Dell, it is Microsoft's responsibility to make sure their update is compatible with all PC's, not Dell's responsibility. All PC parts are basically the same, so I can guarantee that you can install any Windows 10 update (as long as you have the minimum required CPU, RAM and Storage) and besides the new release bugs like I am experiencing once those get worked out it will work fine. You aren't going to get bugs because you're installing on a Dell as opposed to a different manufacturer, that doesn't matter.

Thank you for this. As far as I can tell, I do have the minimum required CPU, RAM and Storage. I have a Dell Inspiron i5 7520. I have Intel (r) Core i5-3210M CPU 2.50 GHz, 2.501 MHz. 2 Core(s), 4 logical processor(s). I have 6GB RAM. I have 750GB SATA Hard Drive with 610GB of free space.

When I saw it not listed as one that Dell hasn't tested, I just figured I couldn't upgrade to 2004.

I'm also taking your suggestion to wait for awhile before updating especially after reading about all the trouble others are having.

Both the 32 bit Apple laptop and the 64 bit Dell laptop are running well at the Windows 10 Pro, CU OS Build 19041.329.  The only issue is on the Apple laptop that looses the Logitech M535 mouse occasionally. The quick solution is to use the laptop mouse pad to select the Settings, Bluetooth Devices window and the Bluetooth mouse is magically back!
