2020-05-28T18:21:57+00:00 the ms defrag program (dfrgui.exe) in the May 2020 update keeps forgetting its "status" after a restart or reboot.
Easy steps to reproduce the "defrag" app problem in v2004:
1. Run the dfrgui.exe file (or look for the option to "defragment and optimize drives" in the Start menu)
2. Choose any drive (like the C: drive) and click on the Analyze button and wait for it to complete its analysis. write down & remember its status
3. Close the defrag program and restart the computer.
4. After the windows desktop loads, run the dfrgui.exe file again.
Expected result > the ms defrag program should display the current fragmentation percentage and last run status
Actual result > the ms defrag program shows its status as "never run" when in fact it was previously run and also forgets the fragmentation percentage
this is one of the issues that was not documented in the known issues for Windows 10 version 2004 and there could be other issues out there that were not reported
