Hi Andrew,
Did you check for any updates from the HP Web Site before you attempted to upgrade to Win 10 May 2004?... I had around five major updates that was applied to my New Dell before I attempted the Upgrade and all went fine. Try and navigate over to HP's site and check for updates for your particular HP Make And Model Number.
