File Explorer search Current folder option doesn't work

Good morning,

I am having a problem with my Windows 10 file explorer searches.  When I search for an item, it brings back results in for the current folder and all subfolders as it should.  When I click on "Current folder" in the search tools, however, it does nothing.  I still see all results from all subfolders.  

I believe this problem started after installing NVIDIA GeForce Experience and the latest NVIDIA driver.  I tried to do a system restore, but it seems I dont have any restore points.  That is another problem I will have to fix.  

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Man, this is amazing that the Microsoft tech did not understand the first complaint about what was not working within File Explorer.  The explanation could not have been more clearer which means that the tech has absolutely no clue about the Microsoft 10 operating system!  Very sad!  I and many peers have been having this same issue and it's very clear that it is a Windows 10 update issue.  Too bad Microsoft hires tech's that have not training or exposure to the OS they are trying to help us on.

    I agree with you, but looking at the first Microsoft Technician response, it's clearly a bot. They're trying to give the impression that they are responding quickly to queries, but it's just an automated response. For instance, note that the text which the 'technician' quotes - it's not even a complete sentence. 

    You can't fool us, Microsoft.

    caused by windows 2004 update... 

    same problem here. 

    The contextual search bar does not appear until after search query has been entered preventing it to be used.

    Actually I've had this problem for at least a month.  I only updated to 2004 version 3 days ago in the hopes that the problem would be fixed but nope, still doesn't work.  Great job Microsoft!  You take two steps forward and three steps back.  Oh and my computer is running about 25% slower than it was before I did that latest update, too.  lol

    Sorry to anyone who is looking for an answer, but the only way I found to fix it is to do a system recovery.  I had several other problems with the computer and decided that was my best option.  I also had a problem with Automatic updates not working.  FYI: When Automatic Updates start working, Windows updates KB4560960 & KB4567512 may cause some HP printers not to work with your PC.  I had to uninstall the later to get my HP Designjet 500 to work.  

    I will not mark this as resolved until Microsoft finds a solution for this.  I hope the rest of you get some answers.
