File Explorer search Current folder option doesn't work

Good morning,

I am having a problem with my Windows 10 file explorer searches.  When I search for an item, it brings back results in for the current folder and all subfolders as it should.  When I click on "Current folder" in the search tools, however, it does nothing.  I still see all results from all subfolders.  

I believe this problem started after installing NVIDIA GeForce Experience and the latest NVIDIA driver.  I tried to do a system restore, but it seems I dont have any restore points.  That is another problem I will have to fix.  

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

    So I tested it with date ranges (not a feature I have used often) and the command still works when typed into the search field, its just the context UI that's supposed to help you fill them in thats busted.  "datemodified:x/xx/xxxx..y/yy/yyyy" being that string, I have no idea what the one for inside a file is.  I agree, I really don't see why there is not a solution to this UI bug.  I don't think its broken by a windows update since it seems to happen at various times, but apparently something is breaking it in a LOT of computers.

    I've been having this problem and others for a year..ish.  It seems to me there is something messed up with the some of the context menus in file explorer, some of the advice here indicates that to me as well.  Clicking the "current folder" button should append the 'folderpath:...." to the search string and it just does not.  When I ran into a similar context menu problem (file explorer would not pop up the CD context menu when a CD was in the drive (which was an easy way to create an .iso) I looked around the internet and eventually found some shady looking registry edit that got it working...sort of.  I have to wonder if something similar would work here, and what the underlying thing is that's broken to make these context options not work as intended.     Thanks for some of the advice in this thread though!

    Check the answer from MatthewSibley , He found a workaround where you have to click on the blue arrow before you switch to current folder. It is a windows error. But this is how i do it now.

    The issue about the file search has been like this for over a year and will probably stay like this forever.

    As for your other issues about not being able to update or use a printer, I'd start a new thread about it.
