I have a Surface Pro 5 with a Windows Hello camera that wasn't working and I wasn't able to fix it. Looked like I'd need to do a reset to fix the drivers, so instead I decided to give 2004 a try, hoping the update would refresh the camera drives. Indeed this worked, but I've been having a lot of problems since the update: Seems like all sorts of applications and OS features won't remember my username/passwords anymore. Every time I log in I have to sign into both one drive personal and one drive business. Outlook keeps asking me to log into my office365 every few hours. Acrobat keeps asking for my Adobe login every time a load a pdf if I haven't done so in a few hours. Settings periodically makes me fix my insider account configuration by re-authenticating with Hello Lastpass extention in Firefox keeps asking me to enter my password despite being configured to only require a fingeprint (it first asks me for my fingerprint, but then also asks for the password) probably some stuff I can't recall right now. I wasn't having any of these issues before the update. I tried following Lastpass's support advice to fix it by reinstalling the extension and resetting several settings but this didn't help. It's possible these are all individual issues, but since it seems to be an issue with remembering credentials across a variety of applications, I'm suspecting it's a system wide issue and maybe not specific to these applications. I checked that the credential manager service is running. It was set to manual. I changed it to automatic and rebooted but this didn't seem to help. Anyone have an idea what could be going on here? Sadly, the problem returned. I have reverted back to 1909 again. It seemed to be better. I didn't have to sign into anything again until my PC was dormant or when I closed anything down. Then it was login to outlook email accounts, google, facebook, etc etc. Over and over. It would be fine until you closed anything down or left it for a bit and then repeat. I tried changing the credential manager vault ownership as suggested as one of the fixes. No effect. I tried restarting the credential manager and setting to automatic. No effect. I cleaned the cache, browser history, passwords, form data ... no effect. To quote the wopper ... the only way to win is not play at all. It looks like MS is forcing you to use the MS account because on my PCs that use only that ... no issues. To use my MS account is essentially a clean install which is a royal pain in the butt. Looks like I am going to be at 1909 for a long time.

Well this morning an hour ago, I tried applying 2004 again. And I'm happy to report it is not exhibiting the same behavior as before. I have not been prompted for Outlook passwords nor Google. I have the latest MS updates perhaps that did it. I also prior to applying 2004 for the second time, deleted all my other accounts from my PC except my local account. Perhaps that helped ... no way of knowing. I am crossing fingers to see if it is resolved and will update in a couple of days.

No, I also like to stay as far away from that as possible... I have been contemplating adding him to the domain of one of the companies he's consulting for (and he's also got an office there so). But again, he's been very regular updating me on his problems, which is giving me an ulcer, and I haven't heard from him since yesterday morning when I told him to install the latest patches.
