I have a Surface Pro 5 with a Windows Hello camera that wasn't working and I wasn't able to fix it. Looked like I'd need to do a reset to fix the drivers, so instead I decided to give 2004 a try, hoping the update would refresh the camera drives. Indeed this worked, but I've been having a lot of problems since the update: Seems like all sorts of applications and OS features won't remember my username/passwords anymore. Every time I log in I have to sign into both one drive personal and one drive business. Outlook keeps asking me to log into my office365 every few hours. Acrobat keeps asking for my Adobe login every time a load a pdf if I haven't done so in a few hours. Settings periodically makes me fix my insider account configuration by re-authenticating with Hello Lastpass extention in Firefox keeps asking me to enter my password despite being configured to only require a fingeprint (it first asks me for my fingerprint, but then also asks for the password) probably some stuff I can't recall right now. I wasn't having any of these issues before the update. I tried following Lastpass's support advice to fix it by reinstalling the extension and resetting several settings but this didn't help. It's possible these are all individual issues, but since it seems to be an issue with remembering credentials across a variety of applications, I'm suspecting it's a system wide issue and maybe not specific to these applications. I checked that the credential manager service is running. It was set to manual. I changed it to automatic and rebooted but this didn't seem to help. Anyone have an idea what could be going on here? MS has just release 2020-7 Update Preview for v.2004 KB4568831 with fixes. Not sure if the credential issues is fixed in this. I have already resolved my issue by switching to a MS account and back to local as previously mentioned, so unable to test.

Go to start...then settings...then accounts...then sign-in options...then require sign is checked NEVER...then at bottom of same page, restart app is ON...then both privacy questions are ON. Bingo!! FINISHED! Restart computer and your good to go.." Everyone should thank HER...not me... The problem is that option isn't even available if you've set up Window Hello for bioauthentication. And if you do set up that option then, as I understand it, so long as your computer is turned on (or at least awake) you will never need to reauthenticate. Depending on your use that might be okay (eg. a home desktop computer where no untrusted user would have physical access) but not for other use cases, where it that could be a security issue. It also may suggest the issue occurs during locking or logging in somehow, so it's not clear that this would really work across reboots. But if it does, please let us know. If anyone is currently experiencing this issue, I'd be very much interested if you would try setting up a new user account on your system and seeing if the issue occurs with the new user. While starting with a fresh user account or a clean Windows install may be a pain, it may be worthwhile if it fixes the issue (and may clear out other cruft as well). If it works with a new user account, you can still keep your old one for a while letting you migrate slowly as needed. I was getting this issue on my Surface Pro 5, but I was getting the update through Windows Insider. This computer still isn't getting offered the official update. I have another, custom built desktop machine that got the update about a week ago and it didn't have any problems at all. Thanks!

Have the same issue installing Windows 10 2004. Tried the various suggestions here with the exception of reinstalling Windows. Nothing worked. Reverted back to 1909. That worked.

The problem is that option isn't even available if you've set up Window Hello for bioauthentication.
