Still having them issues, boot just took 10mins instead of the expected 60secs.

Will try to sweat it out for now and hope for the next updates.

    Just for the record:

    Asus P8Z68-V LE

    Intel i5 2500K

    8GB Corsair RAM

    MSI ATI HD6850 Cyclone

    1x SSD

    2x HDD

Old, but it should all still work and no hardware errors.

Maybe also useful to be mentioned:

    Avast Free ed.

    Malwarebytes Premium

    Get rid of Avast.

Maybe also useful to be mentioned:

    Avast Free ed.

    Malwarebytes Premium

    Get rid of Avast.

Just to add to this, perhaps Avast has not updated their code to work properly with 20H1. You will have to uninstall Avast with their removal tool, not just disable or uninstall. Perhaps talk to Avast support regarding this. Once removed, please let us know if things are working properly.

Many users reported no issue running Malwarebytes. You can keep using this.

    Regards,

If you check the Avast support website, you'll find that 2004 introduced a problem for those with Avast - which they worked quickly to resolve (although they didn't get it right first time).

I hope this resolves your problem.

I haven't experienced my issues for a couple of days now (although I don't have Avast) - not sure why, but fingers crossed!

    John

The 2004 update turned my new Lenovo C940 into a pile of garbage.

Eventually got it to load enough to get to Updates in order to uninstall it, which seems to be the only solution I can find.

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security.
    3. Click on Recovery.
    4. Under “Go back to previous version of Windows 10,” click the Get started button. Windows 10 version 2004 recovery options.
    5. Select a reason why you're uninstalling version 2004.
    6. Click the Next button.
    7. Click the No, thanks button.
    8. Click the Next button

Now remove the laptop works again.  But the uninstall also removed Norton 360 so had to resintall that.  And it removed the fingerprint recognition, so had to go to Device manager, download the drivers again, then it works.

Then need to go back to Updates and PAUSE Microsoft updates, since the last think you want is for this rubbish to reinstall again in the background
