I had exactly the same problem and forced to use 1909 until 3 month ago, Then i Upgraded to the 20H2 NO PROBLEM and when 21H1 released installed because i read there is a lots of bug fixed in 21H1. If you already not installed 21H1 try it! (Use Windows 10 Update Assistant tools). I also after every update from MS , using sfc/scannow to fix the system error! it's something that don't understand what happened to windows stability!!!! right now after almost 1 month upgraded to the 21H1 i never have had any freeze!

I would help you find the solution but i need little more detail about your devices and drivers and also what apps installed in your system?

did you install all updates from windows 10 update manager?

    did you have optional update?

First i would ask you if you have any antivirus or firewall just remove them and install trial Kaspersky Internet Security and update it then let it Full scan your system.

After that i need to know exactly what apps installed or if you use any windows tools or maybe customize anything in your windows?!!

Thanks for your reply. I think you are right, i should try just the 21H1 first, maybe then it will work. I will give that a try in a few weeks, when i find the time to test it again.

As for my devices, i am using the ones i mentioned in my post before. I am also using the following drivers and tools:

    Corsair Link 4.9.9.3

    Logitech G Hub Version 2021.4.3830

    SBZ Control Panel 1.01.06

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.8468 (Asus Rog)

    Samsung Magician 6.3.0

    Nvidia 466.47 Game Ready Driver

    VB Audio Virtual Cable

    VoiceMeeter

    Default SATA AHCI Controller

    Intel Ethernet Driver 12.18.9.10

Intel C600+/C220+ series chipest SATA AHCI Controller (Version 4.7.0.1098)

    Default NVM Express Controller

    Intel C610/X99 Chipset drivers 10.1.1.45

    Intel Management Engine Interface 11.7.0.1057

    ASMedia USB Driver 1.16.54.1

    Corsair USBXp Driver 3.3.0.0

Genesys Logic USB 2.0 Card Reader Driver 4.5.2.2

Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Hostcontroller 1.0 (Microsoft) Version 10.0.18362.900

Other than that, i dont have any apps running in the background.

The update was a forced update via the normal windows update service, cause of the supportend of 1909. At first, i testet without any optional updates. It froze. Then i also gave the optional ones a chance, still the freezes.

As for antivirus, i dont have any installed, i am just using the integrated one from Microsoft. I also dont have customized anything, just using the default windows UI.

    Also to mention:

The freezes also occur in the safe mode after 10-20 minutes. Also removed the OC and used the Intel Stock settings without any XMP profiles applied. Still the freezing.

I see.... First of all you can stop windows upgrade for newer build. ( How to Specify Target Feature Update Version in Windows 10 ).

I believe your SATA AHCI Controller driver must be update. try it by original motherboard support website or Newest/best Intel AHCI and RAID Drivers download only driver and install it from Device manager . (Check this How )

Let me know the result. Don't forget First Install Kaspersky and be sure you don't have any external Threats or Malwares...etc

and Please use this command as Run As Admin " sfc/scannow " after if there is any system files error will be fix and create a log file in your windows directory ( The CBS.log file is located in the %windir%\Logs\CBS folder )

Strongly recommend to check if windows restore point is enable or not use this instructions ( Enable-ComputerRestore Or 2 ways to enable System Restore in Windows 10 )
