I am having terrible freezing occurring with mine even though I installed the update. I started having issues last week at some point (had not updated windows or anything that I was aware of...) I began to have issues after updating firmware on my wireless access point (that cant be the issue, right?) Maybe my connection isn't as strong? Although I am able to remote in from my surface and experience absolutely no lag or delay so I know it is related to my PC. It has been extremely frustrating to say the least. Ive tried many tricks that I have come across from the web.

If you remote access your PC while it is frozen, does that unfreeze it and work? Is that what you meant by "remote in from my Surface"?

Sorry for the unclear statement. My RDP connection is freezing and dropping out consistently. Sometimes it will "unfreeze" and work for a bit and sometimes not. This is isolated to my PC only. I am able to remote into my work computer from my Surface device without any issues.

I have dug around more and think that my PC is dropping its connection. When I am running a ping series test I am receiving intermittent request time outs. I think this is causing my RDP to lock up. Again, this is only happening on my PC, which was fine 2 weeks ago so I am unsure how to resolve my issue.

I would check if there is a screen saver kicking in on the PC.

Also check the properties of the PC Ethernet connection and disable any power saving features that it has.

You could also run a Network Reset from the Settings page. That would require a reboot.
