    I am SO glad to read this thread. Since last week's massive update (KB4557957), I have been suffering serious performance degradation and I was beginning to think that I had a problem with my nearly new Intel NUC 10i7 (16GB RAM; 512GB M2 SSD; 2TB SSHD) - Win 10 2004 (build 19041.329) Home 64-bit.

    It boots OK, but when it has been running for several hours, with multiple programs and websites open (incl streaming video), it begins to hang on many operations (including accessing websites), for increasing periods. Eventually it gives up trying and tells me that an unidentified program has crashed and the crash reporter couldn't report it! This tends to produce a full screen white window behind other windows and then trying to close programs often freezes everything.

    The only solution is to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up Task Manager and restart from the bottom right corner icon. [I've had to hard close using the power button a few times and on occasion unplug it!]

    It then takes3 minutesto close (instead of seconds normally) and then restarts normally.

    Yesterday the sequence of shutting down showed the following:

    SENS;

    Connected User Experiences Telemetry;

    Delivery Optimization;

    Energy Server Service queencreek;

    Intel PROSet Monitoring Service;

    Stopping services.

    Today the sequence was:

    Background Intelligent Transfer Service;

    Data Sharing Service;

    Intel PROSet Monitoring Service;

    Stopping Services.

    Interesting that there was only one common element.

    At its worst, I've had to restart THREE times in a day. It's extremely frustrating and I'm really hoping that this thread (and probably others) will get a crisis team at Microsoft to act with utmost speed.

    I'm waiting!

    Same issue:

    Apparently, i've updated the windows to ver. 2004 recently and there's this issue where it suddenly freeze out of know where. This is the 2nd time it froze. Worse case is during when i'm writing my research, it suddenly when nuts. It freezes suddenly but then when i press the mouse button, it emitted beep sounds until it went completely downhill where it forced me to press the physical shut down button.

    You would think the alarm bells are ringing at Microsoft HQ.  Hopefully they will withdraw V2004 and replace it with something that works!

    Have an Asus Laptop I7 with 16Gbytes of ram, SSD drive as boot disk.

    This is the third time I install the version 2004.

    The 2 first times, the PC freezed immediatly at first boot.

    Before the third try, I clean up my boot disk (clean system files)

    Remove all restore-points

    Clean Event logs (just to make them easier to read)

    Everything worked OK ,... for one day, and the the Laptop begin to freeze again, and, then, freeze immediatly at all boots.

    Have to revert to Windows 10 1909.

    I'll try after the next update.
