Windows 10 version 2004 Randomly freezes

There is nothing you normally do on a windows computer that should cause such problems. You should not have to wait several hours, say a Hebrew prayer of perform a magic incantation.  2004 is defective and needs to be replaced!

In case I was unclear, I've found that the problem OCCURS when leaving the Opera windows open and inactive for a few hours; it's not a solution!

While always accepting (and regretting) that updates contain problems, my purpose is to help to find solutions (or even work-arounds) until the underlying cause of the issue can be fixed.

A week later, I've had several days in which the problem did not resurface. However, I THINK I've tied the issue down to the occasions when I have opened multiple streaming tabs in my Opera browser (which is newly-reinstalled for the purpose) and THEN LEFT THE PC ON FOR A FEW HOURS WITHOUT ACTIVITY.

I'm still pretty sure that this only dates from the 2004 Windows Update.

I can easily work around this, but has anyone else noticed such behaviour?

Thanks for answering the reason why I uninstalled the 2004 version was because there were times when I was playing a game like watch dogs 2 at the time the game was about to start, the screen froze and sent me straight to the green screen that time I managed to see a kernel message on that occasion the other two frustrated of what was happening I did not see the messages what I did was to install windows 10 pro again to remove that headache and also I was afraid that the computer would burn or  damage some part of it so I did not continue installing it I have stayed in the 1909 version for now

The 2004 update turned my new Lenovo C940 into a pile of garbage.

Eventually got it to load enough to get to Updates in order to uninstall it, which seems to be the only solution I can find.

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on Update & Security.
3. Click on Recovery.
4. Under “Go back to previous version of Windows 10,” click the Get started button. Windows 10 version 2004 recovery options.
5. Select a reason why you're uninstalling version 2004.
6. Click the Next button.
7. Click the No, thanks button.
8. Click the Next button

Now remove the laptop works again.  But the uninstall also removed Norton 360 so had to resintall that.  And it removed the fingerprint recognition, so had to go to Device manager, download the drivers again, then it works.

Then need to go back to Updates and PAUSE Microsoft updates, since the last think you want is for this rubbish to reinstall again in the background
