Window 10 was working very well until recently after upgrading to Windows Edge chrome (or at least the is the only event that I can associated to this issue) I am getting persistent OS stalls or "not responding" that affect all applications when running Edge. Common to see "waiting for cache" in lower left browser window when the the entire system stalls and stops responding. Common to see the cursor hour glass for 30 or more seconds before system and affected applications start to respond normally.

2020-06-05T20:36:30+00:00 My hardware is also AMD - AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1100T 3.31GHz with 16.0 GByte Ram. I just mention it because although it is a Chromium Edge software issue they may not have accounted for any subtle difference in the code needed to run with Intel/AMD processors.

2020-06-06T17:22:27+00:00 I am going crazy trying to get this issue fixed I have an older AMD 8350 FX running on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 with 16GB of Ram and a Samsung 1TB 860 Evo SSD. Besides the super annoying freezes while waiting for cache issue it does everything I need it to do. I can play games for hours on end or work in Sketchup or Excel with no issues at all.
I have tried updating the motherboard BIOS, updating the SSD firmware, updating all the drivers, Disabling write caching, reinstalling Chrome and Edge, disconnecting all peripherals except keyboard and mouse, and even wiping and reinstalling Windows 10 and cannot find a way to fix this.
I am going to give Firefox a shot as this issue seems to be related to Chrome and Edge as they are the only two apps I see the behavior in.

2020-06-10T20:50:40+00:00 I had the "waiting for cache" issue on Chrome and started using Edge. After updating to the latest version of Edge, now I have the same issue I had in Chrome.
Question for others having the issue...are you using an SSD? Chrome users speculated that it had to do with SSD hard drives. The bad news is I never found a solution.

2020-06-14T19:11:48+00:00 I have the same issue and I dont have AMD. It is a Dell notebook and also a Surface Pro 4. It always happens after Sleep and the only way out is to hold the power button down until it turns off and then restart again.
