Windows 10- Locks up "waiting for cache"

Window 10 was working very well until recently after upgrading to Windows Edge chrome (or at least the is the only event that I can associated to this issue) I am getting persistent OS stalls or "not responding" that affect all applications when running Edge. Common to see "waiting for cache" in lower left browser window when the the entire system stalls and stops responding. Common to see the cursor hour glass for 30 or more seconds before system and affected applications start to respond normally.

Uninstalled chrome and edge. Using Firefox with zero issues

    My issue started with Google Chrome when I was running windows7. Couldn't figure out what the issue was.

    Then I upgraded to 10 and decided to try edge. Worked fine for a while until an update this year.

    I'm running an older system using fx8350.

    Same with me ECKMA. I have no tolerance for any Application that would force me to make deep seated changes to Bios etc. I abandoned both Google Chrome and Windows Edge Chrome over a month ago and switched to Firefox. Firefox is working perfectly. No more freezes "waiting for Cache" and my front end user login preferences related to several important websites that I frequently visit (IE. Remember me, Remember my workstation, stay logged In, etc) are working as expected.

    The whole mess started with the first install of Window Edge Chrome, so in my book that is the problem not my Bios settings.

    I have the same problem, an AMD FX-8370 and tried multiple methods including changing the bootup drive in bios and safe mode. Does this ultimately need a hardware change to use chrome? What other browser do you use? Opera or Firefox and does that get rid of the problem?

    Having exact ssme issue on brand new Dell. Very frustrating. Will go with Mac Book next.
