Cumulative updates - April 14 2020

Thanks for this... but I have done the following cumulative updates on my PC. ver 1909 on 2019-07-05 Currently at Build 18363.815

My PC now has some glitches on startup, but it still works. 

KB4541335   20 03 28

KB4549951   20 04 15 and

KB4550945   20 04 21

Update problems have not been reported because customers cannot boot their computers after KB4549951. 

Your link also does not explain the relationship between Win10 ver 1903 and Win10 ver 1909. Is one for the laptop or server? 

I haven't done the updates on my laptop yet which is at Build 18363.752.

Do we all stop MS updates for 7 days or 14 days until MS fixes this obvious update problem.  Or do we use the Media Creation Tool 1909?

IMPORTANT We have been evaluating the public health situation, and we understand this is impacting our customers. In response to these challenges, we are prioritizing our focus on security updates. Starting in May 2020, we are pausing all optional non-security releases (C and D updates) for all the supported versions of Windows client and server products (Windows 10, version 1909 down to Windows Server 2008 SP2).

There is no change to the monthly security updates (B release – Update Tuesday); these will continue as planned to ensure business continuity and to keep our customers protected and productive.

What's new for Windows 10, version 1909 and Windows 10, version 1903 release notes

Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 share a common core operating system and an identical set of system files. As a result, the new features in Windows 10, version 1909 were included in the recent monthly quality update for Windows 10, version 1903 (released October 8, 2019), but are currently in a dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on using an enablement package, which is a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that simply activates the Windows 10, version 1909 features.

To reflect this change, the release notes for Windows 10, version 1903 and Windows 10, version 1909 will share an update history page. Each release page will contain a list of addressed issues for both 1903 and 1909 versions. Note that the 1909 version will always contain the fixes for 1903; however, 1903 will not contain the fixes for 1909. This page will provide you with the build numbers for both 1909 and 1903 versions so that it will be easier for support to assist you if you encounter issues.

We have seen social media reports related to KB4549951 that mention Bluetooth, a stop error with a blue screen, and other related issues.

To date, we have not seen these issues reflected in telemetry, support data, or customer feedback channels. Of course the blue-screen hasn't shown up in their data, the operating system wouldn't load among other numerous hardware issues that apparently have ruined many decent, smooth-running laptops!  This update has just screwed it all up.

I personally noticed an issue when my Webcam and wireless mouse both stopped working.  I thought rebooting might work, which is when I hit the blue-screen of death with 'inaccessible boot device'.  Now I'm reading about bluetooth and wireless problems, which I imagine would hinder Microsoft's ability to recieve any data.  I managed to boot up after restoring to an earlier point in time - before the blue.

See my post regarding BOTH your KB4549951 (4/15) and KB4550945 updates (4/23) - not mention the sneaky way Microsoft edited my log file by overwriting the entry for KB4549951 without either warning or explicit permission.  WAAAAY outside ethical behavior!

User file may have been corrupted - probably by Microsoft, but they never admit such fault.  Log onto your Microsoft account, and search for the file:

windows-fix-corrupted-user-profile

File also known as 'Fix a corrupted user profile in Windows.

Your PC is probably in a workgroup - even ift's a workgroup of 1 PC.
