Excellent. Have tested and seems to work. I had unchecked this earlier, but was sure what I had done that worked. This may have cleared up the mystery. A full Zoom meeting will tell. Thanks! Cliff
zoom and windows 10 - microphone and speaker drop off
I am trying to use zoom on my Windows 10 HP laptop, but the microphone and speaker drop off after just a short time. My speaker is a "Realtek". What settings should I be using? I have both the speaker and microphone set to work with the app.

2021-05-18T03:00:50+00:00 this is exactly the problem I have when using external speakers with Zoom. Works for a bit and then the microphone and speakers shut down. Going back to the speakers on the PC and Mic, works at times. This happens on several external speaker devices.

2021-05-11T01:47:33+00:00 It took a lot of time on Google, but I found that very fix and it works fine. Hopefully, Zoom can get this corrected. Right now, the work-around is the best option!

2021-05-09T11:15:58+00:00 Just had a conversation with my Zoom rep. It appears there is a known issue with certain revisions of Realtek hardware in HP/Dell and Microsoft systems. The Zoom software has trouble communicating with the hardware in order to properly handle background noise suppression. The result is the Zoom software mutes the mic or locks the microphone hardware requiring a reboot.
Zoom is working to write code to be able to properly suppress background noise and adjust from low/medium/high or even disable to help with these issues. It's supposedly scheduled for inclusion in Version 5.4 of the Zoom software. Unfortunately, there is no ETA for release.
I wonder if anyone's tried going into the sound settings on Zoom and turning off the background noise suppression?

2021-04-23T16:20:41+00:00 Hello,
This worked for me.
1. Your anti-virus software may have a camera or microphone monitoring feature - turn it off and reboot the computer. Try Zoom
2. Goto 'Camera Privacy Settings" &' Microphone Privacy Settings" in WIN 10, turn off access for apps you don't need and reboot the computer. Try Zoom
Good Luck,
