Windows Hello PIN Something went wrong. Try again later

I've had my PIN set up for quite some time and all the sudden I received a message that said my organization requires me to update my pin.  This is a personal computer, it does not belong to any organization.  Under the sign in options, Windows Hello Pin, I see a message that says Something went wrong. Try again later.  I removed my PIN and now Add is greyed out.  This PC has no group policy, it's my personal computer so I don't know what went wrong, but I would like to have my PIN back.  Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Go to Windows Settings -> Accounts -> Access Work or School.  The key setting is the "Work or School Account" with the colorful windows logo by it. Disconnect that. Don't touch the "Connected to whatever domain" setting.
    2. Then click on "Sign-in Options".  Fingerprint and PIN are no longer greyed out. If it's still greyed out, then make sure "convenience PIN sign-in" is enabled.
    3. Restart

    4.Add the PIN, then the Fingerprint.

    1. Update your windows
    2. Go back to "Access Work or School" in Settings -> Accounts. Click Connect and Enter the user's email address and password.

    After freshly installed Windows with new ISO offline installer of newer Windows 10 update, I faced with the same problem (cannot setup PIN).

    I did nothing. After ignoring for a while, the problem automatically resolved by itself.

    So the history from problem to problem solved is like,

    1. Fresh install Windows but cannot setup PIN.
    2. After all Windows updates, restart. Still cannot setup PIN.
    3. None of the 3 methods worked (Aditya_Roy's reply on 13/4/2020).
    4. After multiple restarts, a few days on-and-off PC, still cannot setup PIN.

    One day, I leave my PC on and idle for quite a long while (a few hours), then it so happened when I re-try setting up PIN, and PIN was successfully setup.

    No clues why it happened that way; maybe something is running at background (to finish the updating process??) when I left my PC on and idle?? I don't know.

    Hey, 

    I tried using the methods mentioned below but run couldn't find the application locations for method 1&2 however, method 3's location was found and reset values to 1 but it was still not working.

    Also, you state that you are using a work or school account, it seems that the organization can manage certain policies such as security and defense, so this was another part of my issue in my device, try logging out of your organization´s account, deleting ngc folder that someone stated above and restart your device, so you'll be able to set up a pin and a fingerprint.

    P.D. Try not logging in in yout organization account, using all microsoft services on the cloud, see how comfortable is for you.
