Windows Hello PIN Something went wrong. Try again later

I've tried all the methods in the first and second ones when I opened the run dialog and entered

what said to enter it told me that the two files doesn't exist and with the third one the value was already one

My old Intel DG965PZ machine has got a new HW an SSD and I have installed a Win10 home 64bit, everything works impeccably except that it is impossible to create a PIN code. I have tried step 1. but cannot open the NGC folder. Likewise, I have tried step 4. "DWORD entry named value set it to 1" but am not sure which key you mean because there are more dwords see the picture. Yours sincerely Freddie

did you try restarting your computer? I don't know if it will work for you but it did for me. I tried two methods (shown bellow). Method 3 worked for me until I got to the DWORD named value part, because it was already set as 1. So, a few hours ago the first thing I did after I turned my computer was to check my windows hello pin. and like you I Already had it set up. After I got the "something went wrong" pop up I restarted my computer and the "set up your windows hello pin" DIDN'T appear. I then checked my settings and "add" was gone, in stead was "Change and Remove."

"Method 2: Using Group policy settings if you have Windows 10 Pro installed.

If you are on Windows 10 Pro edition, you can change the group policy settings to enable PIN sign-in option for all users.

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and the R key together.
2. Type GPEDIT.MSC and hit the Enter key.
3. Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon.
4. On the right side, double click on Turn on PIN sign-in and select Enable.
5. Similarly disable the other Windows Hello options if any.
6. Exit the Group policy editor and reboot the computer.

Method 3: Using Registry settings if you have Windows 10 Home installed

If you are on Windows 10 Home edition, you can change the registry settings to enable PIN sign-in option for all users.

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and the R key together.
2. Type Regedit and hit the Enter key.
3. When the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions.
4. In the right pane, double click on the DWORD entry named value set it to 1."

try just restarting your computer. like you none of the options worked for me, but After I restarted my computer, it stopped giving me the "need to set up windows hello pin."
