I need help with windows update error

when I try to start download, of Intel Corporation - Display - 26.20.100.7325 windows update reply with unscific errors.

Hi.I have the same issue in the windows update that says ((a better driver is already installed on your device than the one we are trying to install.We will keep trying.))I have an ASUS X541UV ,and I think this problem is caused by force installing the 2004 update  or installing a preview build.Microsoft warned us NOT TO force install the 20h1 update, but we didn't listen and that is the price.I have a risky solution, but you might want to try it;Just go to the device manager and delete the intel graphics driver,and after reboot try reinstalling it.But I would rather wait for the Microsoft update team to fix it in the next monthly update.

I think you are right because i forced it i will wait until the update. I have a surface to go pro and surface pro 6 and forced both no problems on either and no hang up driver also i have 2018 15 inch zeebook same driver error.

I wonder if you can totally uninstall the Intel display adapter driver (removing files) which should revert it to using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver. If you then keep it offline, you could install the latest driver downloaded from Intel.

Another approach might be to use Device Manager to force it to use the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver. Then you might be able to upgrade to the driver offered via Windows Update.
