please I want to know how to switch back to s mode or know if with this mode my pc is exposed, venerable.

CAN YOU PLS PUT ME BACK IN S PLS

Hi there,

While you cannot return to S mode once you've switched out, many of S mode's protections can be enabled through the Windows Security app and settings. Please try enabling those protections whether your PC is currently in S mode or not.

    Hey there Mackenzielambert,

    S mode offers a number of protections that are enabled by default, right out of the box. They include:

    • A policy that ensures that only trusted apps from Microsoft or the Windows Store can run
    • Recommended Windows and app defaults
    • Credential protection from Windows Hello
    • Memory Integrity protection that protects the Windows kernel from malware

    S mode has settings like these to help ensure your Windows PC is safe and protected. But if you desire similar protections, you can enable all of these settings independently to reach a similar level of protections as long as your PC hardware supports them.

    This is the stupidest thing I haver ever heard. You <snip> can't give us the option to switch back to S mode without reinstalling our computer?

    Hi Suzanne,

    Once you’ve switched your PC out of S mode, S mode cannot be reenabled. You can, however, enable many of its security settings in Windows and Edge.  You can use settings in Windows Security to enable protections like App Installation Control and Memory Integrity that help S mode be safe, simple, and secure.

    ever scence i switch out of s mode i been getting annoying pop up security adds

    Sorry to hear that, Suzanne.  I suggest enabling Edge’s pop up blocker.  This should eliminate or significantly reduce the pop-up ads you’re experiencing.
