Why is Windows 10 Bluetooth so so so bad ?

So, I walked into a Microsoft store the other day and started looking at laptops. The salesperson came up and asked, well what do you think? I said, it looks great! It's silver like I wanted and seems to be fast. The salesperson said, yes, the SDD drive is super-fast! I said, great does it have wifi? The salesperson said, no it doesn't have wifi. I said, what? this is 2021! how can it NOT have wifi? The salesperson said, but it's silver and looks great, doesn't it? I said, but it's not a laptop without wifi!

We would never imagine walking in a store and having that conversation. Because it's not a laptop without wifi in 2021. Microsoft would never imagine that conversation as acceptable. HELLO!! MICROSOFT... IS ANYONE THERE? IT'S NOT A LAPTOP WITHOUT BLUETOOTH!! WHY IS THIS REACURRING PROBLEM ACCEPTABLE?

P.S. - My Bluetooth keyboard stopped working while typing this!!! So did my Bluetooth mouse and my Bluetooth earbuds. Microsoft, are you getting the picture here?

"Now, all you have to do is to go into the Settings app and turn the Bluetooth adapter on. Ta da, you're done. Presuming that you're not the type who messes around in Device Manager, the Windows registry or other internal settings, you've done everything you need to do to get Bluetooth up and running on Windows. That was easy!"

Yeah, that happened 5 years ago.  Now I go into the settings app, and turn the bluetooth adapter on.  Ta da, I'm not done.  The device doesn't show up.  Call the device company and after 7 hours some whiz kid tells you the magic to make this particular device show up on windows.  Until it disconnects and disappears.  And then you send it back, because you bought it for use on the computer, so now it's no use to you.  So, now that it's gone somehow it's showing up again.  Try to remove the device.  Well, I did 90 minutes ago.  Still thinking about it.

I would like to also add my frustration to the table. Hopefully Microsoft actually pay attention to this thread.

Simply trying to connect my Bluetooth headphones with built in mic to windows for some gaming. I have no interest in buying a dedicated gaming headset.

You can imagine my surprise when find something that Apple and Google have made so simple, so incredibly convoluted and complicated on windows. The amount of times I wanted to throw my computer just to get the headphones and mic working at the same time only to find the sound quality gets destroyed. What an absolute mess. How can anyone claim Windows to be an advanced OS if it can't even handle a bluetooth headset, let alone proper colour management.

Microsoft this what you call an operating system is an absolute joke. Mac OS far superior, at least Mac supports headsets properly.

the THEORY. The FLOWCHART, of windows 10 bluetooth UX is drop dead simple.

So simple in fact that they never managed to get it to work in most cases.

Again, let me walk you through the DROP DEAD SIMPLE steps of troubleshooting!

Isolate the problem. This requires you to have a few devices to shuffle things around. So we isolate the problem by trying different combinations of devices, adapters, operating systems, etc. In my own house I have 2 windows 10 PCs, Samsung Galaxy S6 phone, Samsung Galaxy Tab A, all of these devices have their own built-in bluetooth adapters. I also have an ASUS BT-400 USB adapter. I have a skullcandy Sesh BT earbud set, and a SENSO bluetooth headset. This gives me pretty much everything I need to test.

Connect SENSO to PC2 via Onboard = Failure - problem could be with SENSO, Onboard adapter, PC, or Windows.

Connect SENSO to PC2 via ASUS = Failure - problem is unlikely to be with the onboard adapter. Could be with SENSO, PC, or Windows.

Connect SENSO to PC1 via ASUS = Failure - Problem is unlikely to be PC, onboard, or asus adapter. Could be with SENSO or Windows.

Connect SENSO to S6 via onboard = Success - crystal clear audio. Problem is unlikely to be SENSO. Could be Windows.

Connect SESH to PC2 via Onboard = Failure. Problem could be SESH or PC2.

Connect SESH to PC1 via ASUS = Failure. Problem could be SESH or PC1 or ASUS adapter.

Connect SESH to PC2 via ASUS = Failure. Problem could be SESH or PC2, unlikely asus adapter (since problem already exists with the same hardware but an onboard adapter)

Connect SESH to S6 via onboard = Success! Crystal clear audio! Rules out the problem being Sesh

See how this works? We rule out the sesh by getting crystal clear audio in another device. We rule out the adapter because the problem persists even with other adapters. We rule out the tower's hardware by swapping tower hardwares. And a previous user here has even used all the exact same hardware and switched only the operating system from Windows to linux. With EVERY ELEMENT OF HARDWARE COMPLETELY IDENTICAL windows fails the connection and Linux operates seamlessly. 

This is science.

This is an anecdote. 

Troubleshooting is not always about -you- until you have had the problem, and solved it, your input is very rarely helpful, and only serves to insult, degrade, and cover up an actual problem that many people are having. Replies like yours make people who have legitimate problems NOT SEEK HELP. 

So with all due respect, which is none, shut your hole until you do some actual research beyond "well I never had the problem so you must be an idiot."

TLDR; Yeah me too, and I really need a solution that doesn't involve windows being junked.
