Why is Windows 10 Bluetooth so so so bad ?

I am sick of connecting through Bluetooth on my Windows 10

  1. Disconnects automatically randomly
  2. Bluetooth is on but can't connect to the device because it tells that your bluetooth is off.
  3. Devices appear when bluetooth is toggled off, disappear when toggled on.
  4. Nothing happens no matter what you try. The only solution is to restart your device.
  5. After restarting, works for some time. Then randomly ... (please start from point 1 again).

I am so sick of this happening everytime. How can it be so bad? Is Microsoft doing absolutely nothing to fix this.

It makes me want to throw my laptop and pull out my hair. Then I remember, how stupid of me. This has got to do with my Windows, software. How will throwing my laptop help. And then I remember again; if it's a software - it can be fixed! Fix it please!! You made such a huge operating system, you can maybe fix a bluetooth.

PS - I'll check this thread later. I need to restart my system again, need to connect to bluetooth

6 Months since my last post and my experience with Bluetooth on Windows 10 continues to get worse.

I have tried different dongles and different headphones, all with no luck. Actually the only one that worked flawlessly was a Surface headset. Very convenient...

Based on the lack of response or update from Microsoft, I'm getting closer to believing this is an intentional move to make people buy Surface headphones.

I am finally able to leave the MS ecosystem behind in my professional life and I can't wait to start using Linux again. Good luck to all that are locked into this predatory ecosystem.

    Microsoft should be ashamed.

I have that exact same one, and all of its brothers, sisters and cousins. Versions 4.2, 5.0 and 5.1. I have a whole bag of hem. When I say I tried it all, I at least mean I tried a lot!

I am fairly certain, like most people here, that it is not the hardware, it's Windows.

I find it utterly mindblowing that Microsoft has time to implement pointless AI bloat into file explorer that has no practical use for 95% of the userbase of the operating system yet Bluetooth on Windows is less reliable than it was on Sony Ericsson k800i from 2006. I had better success rate using Bluetooth on a crappy Acer laptop from 2004 running Windows XP than I do on high end hardware on Windows 10. Today the "Add Bluetooth or other device" button in the settings just flat out gave up and stopped doing anything. I can click it to my hearts content and it just doesn't do anything anymore. It's 2024 and it's legitimately easier and more convenient for me to run a 3 meter long USB C cable across the room than to use BT. The only reason why I still touch this steaming pile of manure of an operating system is that Adobe's software is a nightmare to run on Linux and I sometimes need it for professional purposes.

I have to agree. Buying an expensive headset because I was sick of all the jitter, pops en clicks, only to find out WH-1000XM4 does the same thing. Not when connecting to my phone, oh no, then all is fine, perfect even. But when listing to music or playing a game on my PC it craps out again.
And yeah, I know all the solutions, read them all, tried them all, check bluetooth services, uninstall driver, restart, let te system reinstall everything .... and then yeah, it works again. For about 10 minutes!
I thought about Powershelling it, just force it into submission, but nah. My headset still has a 3,5"jack, so I went analogue. Freaking tragidy, man.
