Why is Windows 10 Bluetooth so so so bad ?

I am sick of connecting through Bluetooth on my Windows 10

  1. Disconnects automatically randomly
  2. Bluetooth is on but can't connect to the device because it tells that your bluetooth is off.
  3. Devices appear when bluetooth is toggled off, disappear when toggled on.
  4. Nothing happens no matter what you try. The only solution is to restart your device.
  5. After restarting, works for some time. Then randomly ... (please start from point 1 again).

I am so sick of this happening everytime. How can it be so bad? Is Microsoft doing absolutely nothing to fix this.

It makes me want to throw my laptop and pull out my hair. Then I remember, how stupid of me. This has got to do with my Windows, software. How will throwing my laptop help. And then I remember again; if it's a software - it can be fixed! Fix it please!! You made such a huge operating system, you can maybe fix a bluetooth.

PS - I'll check this thread later. I need to restart my system again, need to connect to bluetooth

I have that exact same one, and all of its brothers, sisters and cousins. Versions 4.2, 5.0 and 5.1. I have a whole bag of hem. When I say I tried it all, I at least mean I tried a lot!

I am fairly certain, like most people here, that it is not the hardware, it's Windows.

I find it utterly mindblowing that Microsoft has time to implement pointless AI bloat into file explorer that has no practical use for 95% of the userbase of the operating system yet Bluetooth on Windows is less reliable than it was on Sony Ericsson k800i from 2006. I had better success rate using Bluetooth on a crappy Acer laptop from 2004 running Windows XP than I do on high end hardware on Windows 10. Today the "Add Bluetooth or other device" button in the settings just flat out gave up and stopped doing anything. I can click it to my hearts content and it just doesn't do anything anymore. It's 2024 and it's legitimately easier and more convenient for me to run a 3 meter long USB C cable across the room than to use BT. The only reason why I still touch this steaming pile of manure of an operating system is that Adobe's software is a nightmare to run on Linux and I sometimes need it for professional purposes.

That's not my experience and not believalble. It'**** and miss, devices connecting then not, so having to remove the paired device. Re-pairing even having to restart the laptop without any confidence it will work. Frustrating BS.

The other thing about MS's "interpretation" of Bluetooth (which is supposed to be platform independent), is that 2-way comms are downgraded to [insert earbud name] Bluetooth Hands free. The hands free mode enable device microphone but wrecks audio quality for the listener, Similar to having your close field studio monitors sounding like a transistor radio...
