Hi Will, yes it is appalling. I have my PC paused until April 28th. Mine is still running good, and that is because I didn't even attempt to install those Updates, or to try all the suggestions here. When my Pause expires I fear I will get Automatic Updates and that scares me to death. I would be lost without my PC. I am a Senior age 80, and I get no Post Office Mail, I get everything on my PC. Totally Paperless and pay all my bills on line, order my medications, contact my doctors. Everything on line. My Hobby is Genealogy and I work that everyday. I can imagine everyone who uses their PC for work and are not large Corporations or large Businesses. Those large Companies have Companies to keep their Computers in shape. Us we are the experiment. Sorry you are having to deal with this the hard way. Me I am just waiting. Good Luck
Why are you still showing these directions? None of these, from what I am seeing have worked, and these links and instructions keep being posted, same one every time. close to 20,000 people have posted their trouble, including, "Well, I tried that" and "Tried that"" with this here post of instructions. So DITCH those instructions, and post what really needs to be done, such as, maybe Microsoft is going to send out a FIX.

Hi Ruth, I'm sure you will be able to extend the pause date further.
