2020-04-12T22:56:27+00:00 Hi Goodole1,
I paused my Updates for a couple weeks then realized that most people who do not use Windows Defender, Malware & Firewall are having issues installing these Update. Also you need to have the current 1903 Version for this 1909. To check to see if you have that Version, type into Cortana Winver. A boc will come up telling you what Version is currently installed. Mine said Version 1903 and since I only use Windows Defender Anti Virus, Malware & Firewall, I took mine off Pause and went to Check for Updates. The first one was Cumulative Framework. I installed that with no issues, then restarted and went back to Check again for Updates. I then got the 1903/1909 Feature Update. That installed with no issues in about 10 minutes restarting automatically twice during the process. Also some computers having issues are Lenovol and Acer. I have a Dell Insprion 1545 Lap Top which will be 10 years old in December. Still working great. It had Windows 7 and I had it Upgraded to Windows 10 in 2016. No problems with Windows 10 at all. But again I use Windows Defender, which is free with Windows 10. Have had no problems at all with Defender. Good Luck. You can call MS Support and tell them you can't get the Updates installed and they most likely will take over. My sister had McAfee and tried to Uninstall it with no success and she even called McAfee and they would not remove it. They said it had to stay in her Computer and hung up on her.so she couldn't put in Defender., until McAfee was uninstalled. Her Updates also failed. MS got McAfee out of her computer and installed the Updates just fine after installing Defender. Just a thought

2020-04-12T15:43:17+00:00 I believe I stated in one of my post several days ago. Since Microsoft can't get their act together and many people have had to rebuild their computers after installing the two updates, I've decided not to update.
If I see the update are successful later on I'll do it then. I can't afford to crash this system now as my backup computer died last year and I've been in and out of the hos[ital with back surgeries and cannot sit at the computer desk all day long for all the updates etc after a new install.
My system was upgraded from WIN 8.1 and that's flaky enough. I don't want to mess it up until I have a new system built/ All I need now is the MB, CPU and memory. This COVID-19 has thrown a another straw on my back and I'm helping three disabled vets get through it plus myself.
So thank you for your input regardless whether it worked or not. So far I cannot install the patches offered up here on this site. which tells me anyone that is installing or trying to install them are having difficulties to.
Have a great day, Kent
