Cumulative Updates - March 10th 2020

Microsoft forces Internet Explorer and Microsoft edge on your computer to visit bing.com and secretly plant internet browsing files and cookies from bing on your pc. Don't believe me? Try this: Fix the privacy and security settings on your computer and IE and MS Edge browser to not collect data and do not keep tracking cookies. Turn off IE in control panel. Download a tracking cleaner software (I used CCleaner to investigate). Exit all browsers. Make sure default is not bing or IE, MS Edge in default program. Analyze and Clean with CCleaner. You'll see IE and MS edge cookies are cleaned. Restart your computer. Log on to user account. Open ccleaner after 5-10 minutes. DO NOT open any MS Edge page or IE. Do NOT visit Bing.com or use bing search egine. Open google chrome or firefox browsers instead. Don't search for anything. Exit the browsers and Run a test with ccleaner on your computer. You will find tracking cookies from Bing.com and internet files created by Internet Explorer(which you had disabled) and Microsoft edge(which you didn't use). So, tell me Microsoft...how does this happen? How do we end up with files and tracking cookies from Bing.com without visiting Bing.com--and without using the apps that planted those cookies(which we disabled) on our computer? Do you know what a malware, virus or spyware is? Does my Microsoft understand the definition of hacking? Disguising a virus spyware that YOU CANNOT UNINSTALL as an app/browser in order to hack/force fake search to bing.com--which, plants tracking cookies on the users computer--to exploit data and personal info...which is then fed to bing(a search engine owned and operated by Microsoft) that makes a fortune in advertising utilizing this data without the average pc user knowing. They're decieved into thinking when they disable anything to protect their data privacy and security--that it's actually disabled. This is one of many things they're doing wrong. Microsoft doesn't give a damn. They're dominating the market by playing dirty--essentially running a criminal enterprise at this point. That's why I will never support Microsoft or buy anything connected to Microsoft. Let's start dumping our Microsoft devices once they get old and their company stock to send Microsoft a message. hashtag #DumpMicrosoft

Right Click Windows Logo in bottom left of screen.

Find in the list "Settings" and click on it.  A window full of settings will appear.

Click on "Update and Security"

It will come up in Windows Update

Look down below the words Windows Update and locate "Adanced Options"

Click on Advanced Options and look down to find "Pause Updates"

Set a date that you are comfortable with and then close the whole window with the "X" at the top right of the screen.

If this issue is not fixed by the time you machine is about to end it's Pause, push the date out further.

I have not installed the new Feature Update Windows 10 Version 1909 yet, because I am not computer knowledgeable and wish to wait until I don't read about all these issues people are having with it not completing the update.  How long will it stay in my Update settings?  What do I do if I do have this issue where it won't complete.  I am nearly 80 years old and my computer is my livelihood.  Meaning I would need help getting it installed and not by someone giving me instructions on how to do it by writing it here.  Updates I get every month install just fine, but when I signed up to Upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I did not do it myself and let it sit for months until I finally called Microsoft with another individual Update that would not install and got the help of Microsoft on line to get the Upgrade from 7 to 10 by the Tech who I spoke with.  That is how illiterate I am when it comes to computers.  A little advise would be nice here.

Hello, HitBit, I fully echo your sentiments.  I am reading that this latest update is an important one (from March 13th, 2020), but that I need to install a previous, "Service Stack Update".  Last month (February, 2020), Microsoft's updates decided to wipe out all my non-installed desktop icons,  and I had to go looking for them.  Unlike the horrid, Octobre 2020 update (which wiped out my files-which I was able to recover, and destroyed my touch screen program), I did not lose all my files.  However, I had to really search for them, because Microsoft thought it would be cute and funny to move them elsewhere.  They also thought it a great idea (along with these updates), to delete all the favourites and folders I had on Google Chrome.  It has gotten to the point where I have had to copy and paste, and e-mail to myself, ALL my computer's files, folders, and anything else important, because Microsoft has shown they do not give a damned.  I also have had to pause updates, because that is what it has come down to.  I am not "allowed" on my own computer, to stop them until I say so.  Like you, I am tired of them (Microsoft) destroying my computer in the name of "updates and "Improvements".  I will not be purchasing another computer like this in the future, either.  I am only one person, but to hell with buying from a company that craps all over its customers.
